However, there are free alternatives via the free road, which offers a cheaper but longer journey. However, it is important to note that during the rainy season, this route may present challenges due to constant landslides in the mountains it crosses.
This new infrastructure strengthens connections with the Bajío, Tepic, the Marias Islands, and Banderas Bay, generating direct and indirect jobs and opening up new economic opportunities in the region.

In addition to improving connectivity between cities, the new highway is also driving the development of other access routes, such as the much-anticipated Federación Avenue. This project will extend towards Highway 544, passing between Las Juntas and the University Center of the Coast, before traversing the Cañadas area and expanding through the eastern outskirts of Puerto Vallarta.
